This series of work is about transcribing my emotions into the canvas through brush strokes and marks and colors which, as literally as possible, emanate whatever feelings I want to release or whatever topic I want to talk about that's dear to my heart.
I'm trying to express through the painting "grammar" (though I also try to not be too strict with the rules) a specific emotion and/or theme, and by doing so talk about things that move me or are happening in my life.
It's a very thorough and prepared work even if I want to let room for variety and flexibility. Sometimes though, an idea for a body of work comes from a piece I made intuitively without any idea in mind. I then try to develop a story around it based on its colors and / or pattern and turn it into its own series.
Working on a specific body of work is also a way to try new things through composition or technique to get out of my comfort zone and see what I'm capable of.
(While reviewing my work lately, as I've been painting for almost 2 years now, I realized my series were two different in styles or techniques or colors to qualify as a similar body of work.
I decided then to incorporate them to my "Intuitive" body of work since these paintings were, actually, done this way.
As I'm growing as an artist, figuring out what makes me me, I'm working on different series.
Hopefully, I'll be able to finish them soon and post them here.
I just wanted to explain why this page was suddenly empty if you had been checking it out :))
